ASEAN Startup Roundtable 2024 with the theme “Building a Tech Startup Ecosystem in ASEAN: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead” was held on 29 January 2024, at the ERIA Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre (E-DISC) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The roundtable is designed to foster in-depth discussions on critical issues about tech startups in the ASEAN region. It focuses on the development of a robust and sustainable startup ecosystem and features interactive panel sessions that cover vital topics, including digital infrastructure, access to finance, and nurturing human capital for tech startup success.
The Chair of the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI) was also in attendance. Two representatives for each ASEAN Member State comprising COSTI and promising tech startup representatives also attended the Roundtable.
This event brings together prominent authorities from the government, industry, academia, and other international organizations to exchange knowledge and industry perspectives, encourage active cooperation, and generate practical solutions that will enhance comprehension of the tech startup ecosystem in ASEAN. This includes examining the challenges, opportunities, growth, and long-term viability of regional tech startups.
