STI Partnership Contribution

The initiative of ASEAN STI Partnership Contributions, which was initially proposed by Thailand at the 71st Meeting of ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (COST-71) on 26 October 2016 in Cambodia, was supported by the Philippines during the 9th Informal ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology (IAMMST-9) on 29 October 2016 in Cambodia. A year after the ASEAN Member States welcomed the additional support from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore during the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology (AMMST-17) in October 2017 in Myanmar, to be used for the programs and activities under said initiative.

The concept note of the Proposed Mechanisms on the Utilization of the ASEAN STI Partnership Contributions prepared by COST-Philippines was approved at the 75th Meeting of ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (COST-75) on 17 October 2018 in Cebu, Philippines.
