On the 31st October 2025, the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), a member of the ASEAN Sub-committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA), successfully organised the Space Policy Expert Exchange Seminar, entitled “A New Era of Space Exploration: Space Innovation for Peaceful Purposes” in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The one-day seminar has brought together key representatives from the region to discuss the capacity and capabilities of Malaysia and other ASEAN countries in the fields of space law and policy. Professor Steven Freeland, Emeritus Professor from Western Sydney University, Australia, was invited as the keynote speaker and shared insights on the latest trends in space governance, technology and laws related to outer space.
