The 88th ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI-88) and Related Meetings were held from 19 to 24 October 2025 in Bangkok-Thailand. Hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) Thailand, the meetings brought together representatives from ASEAN Member States (AMS), Timor-Leste, and dialogue partners.
In total, there were 19 hybrid meetings conducted throughout the week including COSTI-88; 9 Sub-Committees Meetings; 5 newly merged Sub-Committees Meetings, the 19th Board of Advisers to COSTI (BAC-19) Meeting; the 12th Meeting of ASEAN-Russia Working Group on Science, Technology, and Innovation (ARWGSTI-12), the 13th Meeting of ASEAN-U.S. Consultation on Science and Technology (AUSCST-13), and the 2nd Meeting of the ASEAN-UK Dialogue on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AUKDSTI-2).
The Meeting served as a pivotal opportunity to strengthen, leverage, and succeed strategies aligning with the ASEAN Plan of Action on Science, Technology and Innovation (APASTI) 2026-2035 within AMS, Timor-Leste and with dialogue partners. Among the planned discussions is an exchange of opinions as well as networking sessions on initiatives and cooperation strategies in the future.
