ASEAN Quantum Summit 2025

The ASEAN Quantum Summit 2025 was convened in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, from 10–12 December 2025, marking a significant milestone in advancing quantum technologies across the region. The Summit gathered senior policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and subject-matter experts from ASEAN Member States and partners to explore breakthroughs in quantum computing, communication, sensing, metrology, among others.

Organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) as well as universities from the Malaysia Quantum Information Initiative (MyQI), the programme gathered more than 200 regional delegates and 2,600 students. It featured high-level policy dialogues, scientific forums, demonstrations, and exhibitions, fostering collaboration and capacity-building to accelerate ASEAN’s quantum innovation ecosystem. The event concluded with a visit and dialogue session at the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore, reinforcing cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange, with an expectation to sustain and expand this initiative in the coming years.
