Foresight Workshop for actions and priorities for the ASEAN Plan of Action in Science, Technology, and Innovation (APASTI) 2026-2035 was facilitated by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) on 11-12 September 2024 in Gran Melia Jakarta, followed by a hybrid workshop on 13 September 2024.
Supported by the Australian Government through the Aus4ASEAN Futures Initiative and in consultation with the ASEAN Foresight Alliance, the workshop brought together over 80 key experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Timor Leste to define a strategic roadmap for the region’s science, technology, and innovation (STI) landscape. The outcomes of this workshop will guide ASEAN’s collective STI efforts over the next decade, ensuring resilience, sustainability, and competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global environment.
During the workshops, participants exchanged their expertise to contribute evidence on the trends and help craft a joint narrative for the potential impact of those trends on the ASEAN region over the decade of 2026-2035.
