The 3rd ASEAN Regional Research Infrastructure (RRI) Taskforce Workshop, titled Refining Strategy, was successfully convened on 18–19 November 2024. Hosted by the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (COSTI) of Thailand, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the event was supported by the EU through the Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI).
The Workshop featured the virtual participation of Professor José Luis Martínez, Chair of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). Four early-career scientists presented their visions for the future of research infrastructure, answering the question, “What do you imagine research infrastructure to be in 2050?” Two exceptional participants were selected to showcase their ideas at the International Conference on Research Infrastructure (ICRI2024) on 4 December 2024 in Brisbane, Australia.
This initiative exemplifies ASEAN’s dedication to advancing research infrastructure and fostering regional innovation.
