The ASEAN-RoK Workshop on Implementation of Artificial Intelligence on Carbon Neutrality and Blue Economy was conducted on 15-16 October 2024, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Workshop was hosted by the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI) of Indonesia in collaboration with the Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN, supported by the ASEAN Secretariat. Around 159 participants from across ASEAN Member States (AMS) and Korea attended the Workshop, both in-person and virtually. While the economic potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in ASEAN is undeniable, progress across AMS exhibits disparities hence underscoring the pressing need for enhanced capabilities and strong collaborations with nations boasting more advanced core technologies.
As one of COSTI Annual Priorities in 2022, the Workshop served as a pivotal platform to gather, dissect, and disseminate AI strategies for the region and as a platform to share best practices on the implementation of AI, particularly in Carbon Neutrality and Blue Economy.
