DESCRIPTION:This is a two-day workshop to further engage in genome-editing advocacy across ASEAN member countries and discuss areas for potential collaboration on research and policy which will be conducted on September 10-11\, 2024 at the ASEAN Secretariat\, Jakarta\, Indonesia. \nWorkshop components include the sessions: \n\nWorkshop I Review and Updates\nCrop Improvement Technologies and Convention on Biological Diversity\nGene-Editing Applications in Plants\nExploring Opportunities for Good Regulatory Practices\nRecommended Action Points to Facilitate GnEd Policy Framework\n\nThe objectives of the second workshop are to further engage and align understanding on genome-editing across ASEAN member countries\, as well as creating champions among national researchers within ASEAN countries for a more robust policy framework in GnEd products. Additionally\, this workshop seeks to provide recommendations to ASEAN Ministers of Science & Technology on developing GnEd technologies based on the outputs of this workshop.
