SUMMARY:16 th Meeting of the Committee of the Whole for the ASEAN Economic Community (CoW 16) and the Second Meeting of the CoW Focal Group on Global Value Chain (FG-GVC)
DESCRIPTION:Since we are starting the year\, CoW 16\, as a coordination platform\, will discuss the 2024\ndeliverables and priorities across pillars/sectors focusing on those requiring cross-sectoral\ncollaboration and support to ensure effective implementation. CoW 16 will also continue\nto discuss on-going works on cross-cutting AEC agendas\, particularly on sustainability and\ndigitalisation as we aim to further enhance coordination between sectoral bodies. The\nmeeting will also touch upon the priorities of ASEAN Connectivity and the ASEAN\nBusiness Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in 2024. During this occasion\, we also aim to\nupdate all the AEC sectoral bodies on the developments and required action in regard\nto the AEC post-2025 agenda. \nThe CoW 16 Meeting will be preceded by the 2 nd Meeting of the FG-GVC. The main agenda for this meeting is to enhance the ASEAN’s GVC works through its governance and work plan\, which is a follow-up to the discussion of its inaugural meeting in January 2023. In addition\, the Meeting will also discuss other initiatives that relate to GVC\, such as the study on the Supply Chain Analysis of 10 Specific Product Groups on Food Security and Energy Resilience.
